The science behind antiozonant wax
Ozone is an odorless gas which is made of 3 oxygen atoms. It protects earth from harmful rays of sun. Without ozone layer around us there would be no life on earth but while ozone is very useful around the earth, it is considered a pollutant in the air. Furthermore, ozone harms rubber products and tyres. Anti-ozone wax protects tires from ozone gas and gives tyres more longevity. Thanks to Anti-ozone waxes, today, tires can work under harsher situations such as higher speed, very cold and hot temperature and keeps going for a long time.
Antiozonant wax production
Anti-ozone wax is made of microcrystalline wax and paraffin wax. Since Iran is an oil producing country and there are several great refineries in Iran we are able to produce microcrystalline wax and paraffin wax with lower price and higher quality than our competitors. We also produce other high quality raw material products for tires such as vulcanizing Agent at Kiapolymer.
Microcrystalline wax for tires
Microcrystalline wax is used in many products such as cosmetics, adhesives, candles and rubber products. It is derived from oil refinery by a procedure called deoiling. Deoiling is a process that removes oil from materials. Microcrystalline wax is usually combined with paraffin wax for some applications. In Kiapolymer we are specialized in producing blend of paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax for tires which is also called antiozonant wax. There is a reason why both microcrystalline wax and paraffin wax is used in anti-ozone wax. Paraffin waxes are made of molecules with less atoms so the migrate faster to the surface of tire while microcrystalline wax is made of larger molecules that migrate later to the surface of tire and it makes tire last longer.
